What is the working title of the book?

CADDISH The working title was previously Cuntstruck Lithe Guttersnipes. Ah, yeah, nixed that one!

Where did the idea come from for the book?

The idea for the book came after I had already written myself about a third of the way into it--after I destroyed Collette’s Vagabond, in writing the sequence Idylls& Rushes. I was headed to the Boston Poetry Marathon and the train was late – I wrote the part of the second half then, on a map of RI with the conductor’s sharpie (for lack of PAPER & a pen!) in the historic railway station Kingston (originally called Little Rest--that rest wasn't little). Three maps later, the train arrived and I even read from a couple of the maps that day.

What genre does your book fall under?

Poetry

 

What actors would you choose to play the part of your characters in a movie rendition?

Each section could be a short. There is certainly a female voice, but she is shifty and only ever constant in what she doesn't want.

She might be a toss up between Oliva d’Abo or Renee Zellwegger. The male could be Colin Firth (a la Mr. Darcy or Darcy). Though if we get Firth, I could certainly play the leading female! haha

Other random wild extras would certainly be appreciated as walk-ons, maybe a Lady Gaga appearance, Emily Blunt as a young Mina Loy. Helena Bonham Carter as Collette? Franco as Pound? It would be a ripe old garden party affair!

Some strange funny things might happen there!

What is the one sentence synopsis of your book?

Love— Heartbreak———Or,- love& heartbreak with an even longer dash of LANGUE.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of the manuscript?

About a year.

Who or what inspired you to write this book?

Years of living between languages, and many more years of peering & penning into old texts. Also, the pure joy of ripping up old books. Much of this inspired the odd decadent language in places, the strange repeats...

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

There is a coded manifesto of sorts at the end!

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

Black Radish Books will publish it officially this spring!
